Conditions of service

IDENTIFIERS

Only those identifiers containing one part of the applicant’s name and surname will be accepted. The general recommendation is the “name.surname” format.

  • Examples of acceptable identifiers: e.perez (Enrique Pérez), e.perez2 (Enrique Pérez), mai.lopez (Maite López), unaim (Unai Makua), basabe.e (Eneko Basabe)
  • Examples of unacceptable identifiers: nicknames or pen names (loretahur, fermat, txipi, the.boss, ..), or rude, offensive or inappropriate words (pato.lucas, tonto, estanochefiesta,…)

Please note that your choice of identifier cannot be changed later, and it will be used as an identifier to access the rest of the digital services that may become gradually available at the University of Deusto.

In this form, applicants can also choose a name and surname that will be associated to their OpenDeusto account, but it does not necessarily have to coincide with those of their civil identity, and can be changed after the creation of their account. However, in the case of inappropriate or offensive identities, the University of Deusto reserves the right to require it to be changed, to exercise such action it deems appropriate, and to demand responsibilities that can be derived from the inappropriate behaviour of the users concerned.

CONTINUATION AND AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICES

We inform you that the continuation and availability of the services associated to OpenDeusto accounts are not answerable to the University of Deusto, but mainly to the company providing the services –Google, inc., in this case-, although the University of Deusto will endeavour to hold agreements that make it possible to maintain this service in suitable conditions for its users.

The University of Deusto warns you that it will not provide any digital services in place of those offered by Google. Therefore, if the privacy policy of the University of Deusto is not accepted and/or an OpenDeusto account is not requested, the University of Deusto will not be able to establish digital communication with the user concerned, and he/she will have to assume the prejudices and problems that this situation may cause for the normal development of academic, teaching, working and professional activities.
